Unfortunately, if I were to give these to people, they would look at my like I’m crazy. I’ll make them for myself, though!

My hubby used to think I was nuts until he saw the results. He was the first one on board to try toothpaste powder I made recently…I think he is a convert!

    Katie!
I have been meaning to leave a note on your blog for a very long time. I absolutely LOVE your website. It has been so helpful to me! Your recipes are delicious (please keep adding more), and I am so thankful for your articles concerning health. Also, this list of homemade gifts was perfect for me this year! My friends and family will be getting body butter and sugar scrubs.
Thank you! God bless and have a Merry Christmas!

I’ve just discovered your DIY recipes and as a student, I’m hoping to be able to make my own products rather than spending all my money on drugstore brands. However, I was wondering if there was an alternative to beeswax that I could use.

I take my kids broken crayons, melt them down with like colors, or combine a couple to make “special” colors, then pour them into candy molds.. I give out 8-12 crayons in wax baggies to the kids that come to our solstice party, and my school age boy takes them to his friends at school. At the beginning of this school year, a little girl came up to me and asked “are you making heart shaped crayons again this year!?!?!” It’s my thing.. But it should be everyones, as it’s “upcycling”, affordable and the molds are reusable time and time again, for crayons- or chocolate :)

Oooh, and I didn’t see astragalus on your first aid remedy list.. It’s a must. Fill a mason jar with dried astragalus root, loose, then fill it with vodka, store in cool dark place. Then 2-4 months later, strain it, then squeeze pulp through cheesecloth, fill brown tincture bottles.. Label these “immune support”, a full dropper for adults, half for kids… Miracle medicine.. Granted, we are an oober healthy family, but this builds up all of our systems to well during the fall and winter.. Incredible stuff.. Should definitely make the list!
