I’m back again with my dear friend Dr. Alan Christianson. He’s been on the podcast several times and each time he’s been such a wealth of information. He’s a naturopathic endocrinologist who focuses on thyroid disease. He’s also a New York Times bestselling author of several books, including The Metabolism Reset Diet and The Thyroid Reset Diet.
Dr. Christianson is also the founding President of the Endocrine Association of Naturopathic Physicians. And he’s trained thousands of doctors worldwide in natural thyroid care. You may also recognize him from his frequent appearances on national TV shows discussing this specific topic.
Dr. Christianson’s work has been immensely helpful to me in my own recovery from Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. And in today’s episode we’re discussing hormones and how certain foods impact them. We often hear the advice to “eat healthy,” but by reducing or adding specific foods we can really change the course of our health and reverse disease. We also talk about the top 5 hormonal symptoms people might not link to hormone problems.
Dr. Christianson also goes over hot flashes and why they’re more than just an annoyance, but a sign of deeper hormone issues. And we talk about hormonal shifts during different phases of life and what those should look like. It’s such a fascinating conversation whenever we get to talk and I always learn so much. So let’s join Dr. Christianson!
