Today’s episode is all about answering your pressing questions, sharing where I’m going with Wellness Mama, and reflecting on where I’ve been. My life has been a little chaotic in some ways for the past several years, but I feel like I’ve come out of a cocooning and I’m ready to re-enter the world as a different person. And even though I share an obituary of my past online persona, Wellness Mama isn’t going anywhere!
I open up more about the unique process of my divorce and how it’s changed me and some important life lessons I’ve learned from it. I also share how we chose to handle this with our kids in a way that helped minimize trauma.
One of the biggest shifts I’ve had in my personal life is the realization that wellness is more than just the physical side of things. It’s also about the emotional, mental, and spiritual and I’ve really found freedom in embracing that lately. I’ve shared more about this some at Wellness Mama, but I’m excited to share more of this broader direction with you.
So here’s to changes and new beginnings! And as always, I appreciate you giving me your time and attention as I share my thoughts with you.

I appreciate your openness. I followed you almost daily when you came out with your cookbook, when you tackled Hashimoto’s, when you met MommyPotamus, Sean Croxton, Kelly Brogan (her life is inspiring, too), Christa Orecchio (inspiring!), started your podcast, homeschooled (as I did, too), and started your product line. During that time I was unhappily married. Your blog was something I looked forward to and you inspired me so often. My family heard your name spoken like you were a friend of mine. I left my husband about a year ago, and I visited your blog less then. I hug you now through this comment to say that I welcome your new era of WellnessMama as much as I ever did. Your journey is beautiful.
Thank you for the life update. I look forward to these from you each year. It’s nice to connect with you that way since we listen to so many others on your podcast throughout the year. Yes, I would love for you to do more financial health podcasts. I also would love more relating to raising children well. Book recommendations for reading to children (young and teenagers) about grit, determination, resiliency, good life lessons, gratitude, etc. I read a lot to my children especially during our homeschool days, and in addition to incorporating the regular subjects like history, science, and math, I always try to read a personal growth book to them, so any recommendations for books more geared to the young years (teenagers too) for personal growth would be great. Also, whatever happened to the homeschool program you were working on? Unstitute? I can’t find anything about it any where.
I thought this was such a wonderful podcast – thank you so much for sharing your personal journey. I just wanted you to know that it was inspiring!
O miss Katie! Thank you for being so real & relatable! You’re killing’ it, sister! Soooo excited for this new season <3
This episode had an emotional affect on me. Thank you for sharing and I wish you well.
Wow, I am so proud of you, and I thank you so much for sharing your personal journey these last few years. I’ve always felt a kinship with you as our stories are similar. I’m from TX, grew up Christian, suffered sexual abuse, and married and had kids young. I’ve been on my own healing journey (that also included psychedelic assisted therapy), EMDR, somatic work, etc. At this point I feel my husband and I drifting apart so it was so refreshing to hear that divorce can be a respectful process. I love the new direction you are taking and am excited to see how it unfolds. Thank you!
