Today I’m chatting with Dr. Amy Myers, a two-time bestselling author, and internationally acclaimed medical and functional medicine physician. She specializes in helping those with autoimmune, thyroid, and digestive issues to take back their health. I feel like this episode is long overdue and I’m excited to get to learn from Dr. Amy (and share it with you)!
Dr. Amy started off in conventional medicine, knowing that she wanted to practice in a more natural way. Even so, she encountered her own challenges with the conventional healthcare system. While the healthcare system failed her, she vowed to help prevent it from failing others in the future. Dr. Amy runs a now famous functional medicine clinic and helps many others with her online programs.
Our talk today goes in a lot of different directions from the triggers and rise of chronic disease, to why she defines autoimmunity as a spectrum. We also talk about other contributing factors and how negative self-talk is so powerful (and not in a good way!). Dr. Amy not only covers the issues but gives a lot of practical advice for how we can drastically improve them.
I learned so much from our talk today and I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did!
