Homemade Tuna and Apple Salad with Walnuts

You Need:

  • 1 large (or 2 small) cans chunk light tuna (albacore has more mercury)
  • ½ cup or more homemade mayo
  • 2-3 TBSP dill weed
  • 1-2 TBSP honey (optional)
  • 1 apple, chopped into small pieces
  • 1 rib celery, chopped into small pieces
  • ¼ cup walnuts, chopped
  • salt, pepper and garlic to taste

What to do:

    1. Drain tuna and empty into medium sized bowl
    2. Add mayo, apples, celery, dill, honey, walnuts and other spices and mix well.
    3. Serve over large bed of spinach and lettuce.

        I’ve been avoiding tuna because they all contain soy in the vegetable broth base.  I don’t know if it’s a significant amount, but it’s most likely gmo soy.  Even the tuna in spring water has it.

        Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. When we can afford it, this is my favorite brand of tuna by far… it only has tuna and sea salt… Wild Planet Sustainably Caught Wild Skipjack Light Tuna, 5 Ounce Cans (Pack of 12)
