Natural Beauty Challenge [Mountain Rose Herbs Giveaway!]

I already have ditched my face and body moisturizers and use coconut oil. I’d like to make my own lotions but haven’t gotten around to it yet. I’d also like to make my own face wash, shampoo and conditioner. 

I will FINALLY ditch my mascara!!

I have made sugar scrub and body oils as gifts this month!  I also just made lip balm and a natural first aid antiseptic!

I’m getting rid of mosquito spray,deodorant, & lotion bars.  I’m trying my hand at anti-itch bars as well.  I already make homemade iced tea, homemade bread, homemade laundry detergent….and probably a few more things that I don’t remember because it’s a normal thing now .  Thanks for doing such a neat give-away!

I’d like to make sunscreen, lotion, and hair detangler for my girls.

I’ve been such a huge supporter of the natural beauty movement ever since reading “No More Dirty Looks”. Great read by the way! My favorite natural substitutes are coconut oil for a makeup remover and almond oil as my all over body moisturizer!

For the challenge I am going to ditch my last remaining dirty product… my shampoo! I plan on giving a few natural recipes another try

I use coconut oil for my face as moisturizer. And I use apple cider vinegar as toner. I have done away with regular cleansers and lotions.

Thanks to you site I have already ditches shampoo,conditioners and store bought toothpaste. Next will be lotions. I have been waiting to make quite a few things but haven’t been able to find beeswax locally so I will be making an order from mountain rose soon. Thank you so much for your site.

I want to ditch toothpaste and deodorant.

I ditched my traditional lotion with lotion bars. I also plan to make natural shampoo and bug repellant bars.

I’m ditching everything.  I use your lotion bars, deodorant stick, body lotion, and toothpaste, plus another recipe I found for shampoo.  I’d like to make a lighter-weight lotion for face and body as well as a homemade hair conditioner.

Going to take the plunge and get rid of shampoo and toothpaste! Ready for it!

I am ditching soaps, lotion, bug sprays and store bought baby products

I need to ditch (or find kinder alternatives to) my makeup — mascara, eyeliner, etc. Also, my hair styling products. I have short hair and need something with hold. I already use vegan products, but would love to use all-natural products if my head didn’t look like a mop.

The rest of my regime (body, face and shampoo) I’ve already switched to natural alternatives.

I now wash my face with coconut and castor oil and am in love with it! I also have made my own shampoo and lotions!

I’d like to replace my chemical filled deodorant with a more natural one

I have ditched mainstream soaps, using only natural locally made and I also use NO LOTION! Just coconut oil and I do the oil cleansing method at night to remove my make up with castor oil!

probably won’t ditch anything else, i’ve already ditched toothpaste, soap, shampoo and most lotions made commercially and have started selling my own soap!  what’s left?  i’ll look into laundry detergent.

I’m just starting to make my own body care products.  So far I made lotion and deodorant, but would love to start making my own soaps and shampoos and other hair care as well as tooth care.

I’m hoping to ditch sunscreen and try the sunscreen bars and to ditch toothpaste in favor of a homemade one.

I have gotten rid of shaving cream, soap, shampoo, and deodorant. I don’t wear make up. I have been making my own stuff except for every once un a while with shampoo from TJ’s. I will give that up again. I use coconut for everything, so that is great

I have light hair and I have tried various shapoos but all with chemicals that were not helping my hair grow. Now I have shifted to Dr. Bronners Shampoo which is chemical free and I am loving it.

So far I have replaced our toothpaste with the remineralizing recipe, thrown out my make up, all of our body wash, bubble bath, deodorant,  shampoo and conditioner and replaced them for homemade, all natural versions. This all happened in about a weeks time, my husband and kids are very supportive thank God! Oh yes and I’ve made awesome bug spray!! Thank you for all of your awesome, easy to follow recipes and for the information on why these alternatives are so important to ourselves and our families health!

Looking to try the deordorant recipe for hubby’s sensitive skin. I also would love to try the sunscreen for my son’s fair skin! Thank you for the opportunity!

I plan to ditch everything and make it all myself!!

I’ve given up regular lotion ages ago for coconut oil, I’ve made my own face powder with arrowroot and cinnamon, I’ve made your hard lotion bars and love them. I gave them out at christmas presents. I use coconut oil and baking soda to brush my teeth.  If I can’t pronounce it I don’t want to use it.

Once you start the change, you never want to go back. I’d like to change bath and shower products. I had switched a lot of stuff over to Lush and then noticed one day that a lot of their products have parabens in them. What a bummer to spend that kind of money to be getting the same toxins that I can buy for alot less! Thanks for the giveaway!

I’ve already replaced lotion w/coconut oil and anti-persperant with a deodorant crystal. I want to switch out my shampoo and conditioner for something better. I also want to find a better toothpaste and make up!

I use natural lotion, shampoo and conditioner (I tried out your shampoo recipe but it didn’t work well with my thick hair). The one thing I have not been able to replace is deodorant. I would love to try out that recipe as well as your lotion bar recipe! This is a great giveaway!

I have ditched sooo much in the last 2 months it’s really amazing. After following your blog, pins and facebook. I started with laundry detergent and fabric softeners.  Paper towels. Bleach was a Hard one to rid my home of. Then those nasty cleaning products. Body washes for myself 2 kids and my husband, who isn’t exactly on the band wagon but loves the money saving element. Baby wipes and diapers. I have made hand and body salve, non petroleum jelly, bathes with essential oils, glass cleaner, surface cleaner room freasheners… I started using the “oil cleansing method” and then makeup. Since I have stopped with the “no so beautiful” beauty products and skin looks much younger and healthier! I was a skeptic and Now I love my new Healthier life style. The changes are wonderful. This week I have potty trained my stubborn 2 year old son and started enjoying the energy benefits of Chia. I have adapted ACV into my and my husband’s diet, who suffers from countless sinus infects and has has 3 sinus surgeries. I’m learning how to add these things into my children’s diet as well. My mom is following me on this awesome journey as well. I have told many of my friends(some of which think I’m crazy).
The only problem has been trying to expense alot of the “nautral” and “organic” items needed to fully change. I try to budget for one to two new items a week, but all in all our health and my sprit and so happy! Thanks Wellness Mama you are a Health Goddess and I’m truely blessed to have found you!!!!!!!

I would love to try making my own shampoo.

I’m ditching my MK scrub and eye makeup remover. And buying more coconut oil(I ran out!) and organic apple cider vinegar. I’ll make a sugar scrub and use the vinegar as a tonor. I already make my own toothpaste, face cream(organic aloe vera gel with lavender oil.) and deo. 

I’m going to replace bug repellent with a better  alternative…

I have ditched body lotion for coconut oil and still plan to make lotion bars. I plan on trying the coconut milk shampoo(my youngest dumped the last batch to skate around the shower floor with =) again. I tried for 4 months to use only natural facial products which resulted in terribly painful breakouts. Just signed up for your meal plans and going to try changing my diet and hoping that I can eventually go back to natural cleansers for my face.

Coconut oil! I love how it works for a lotion on my skin, and great for curly hair! It’s even a mild sunscreen, my favorite natural product so far! I’d love to learn more about natural makeup.

I just bought natural deodorant and toothpaste yesterday actually at a health food store.  And I know it’s not a beauty product but I also bought Dr Bronners soaps to complete the ingredients I already got to make laundry soap!  I love your blog, thank you so much!  I have learned so much and feel so much better!!!!

I need to ditch my shampoo!

I’ve ditched most things over the past year- I now make my own cold-process soap, lip balms, lotions, deodorants, toothpastes and perfumes. I also no longer use shampoo (baking soda/ACV combination), and I gave up makeup quite a while ago.  Now I’m experimenting with various recipes from this site

I am now using home-made deodorant and body lotions.  I want to make my own shampoo and conditioners.

I’d love to find a natural alternative for the products I use for my naturally curly hair – frizz & curl control!

I’ve recently ditched all  lotion and am only using coconut oil for my skin.  I’m slowly working my way through my beauty products and completely getting rid of the bad ones.  Trying to find some sort of natural deodorant that  works.

I am going to replace shampoo, lotion, toothpaste and makeup (I wear so little anyway).  Can’t wait to try to see if some of my skin issues disappear.

I would like to make my own face wash and face lotion. As well as replace all my make up. I would also really like to make my own foundation. I know by making all theses changes that I will be able to save a lot of money which is an extra bonus on top of living a more healthy and natural lifestyle.

I have made my own deodorant and sugar scrub so far. Next things I hope to tackle are shampoo and toothpaste.

Lotion!!! It’s the one thing I use every single day, so it needs to be as natural as possible.

I used therapeautic soap for my body and face, extra virgin coconut oil as moisturizer and homemade toothpaste from baking soda and grapefruit seed extract. I do make my own shampoo but cannot seem to get it right, I tried your recipe but my hair turned out super greasy and tangled :/ I’m still on the hunt for a good shampoo, I found a more natural shampoo, the name escapes me but I’m always looking for natural alternatives

I would also like to create some clean baby products for a friend who’s due in September and who thinks the cleanest ones she will get come from Burt’s Bees and Baby Ganics. But I’m ’bout to help her realize that there are clean products you can buy and there are clean products you can make that help you know the source and thus, trust the results will be fabulously baby-friendly!

I already make and love my homemade deodorant, I am making my goal to make some shampoo, or try going shampoo-less and  a bodylotion.

So far I have switched to coconut oil for moisturizing and I use the Oil Cleansing Method instead of face wash (which has worked wonders by the way!!!!!). Next I would really like to make the lotion and sunscreen bars. We have really cut back on our sunscreen use and fortunately no burning yet! Though I would really like to have some homemade sunscreen on hand for days where we are outside for the full day—especially for the kiddos.

I would love to try the lotion recipe.

I’ve ditched just about everything! We’re using your lotion bars, deodorant bars, shampoo, and tooth powder, which we all love! I even mixed up a lotion bar with some tea tree oil and arrowroot for my hubby’s athlete’s foot – works way better than Tinactin! The change in my diet has improved my skin so much that I haven’t even been wearing any makeup except a little mascara on my blonde lashes – the final bit of chemical product that I still need to find a replacement for.

I could stand to find a DO that doesn’t irritate, too.  My natural one, I love, but I can only use a few days at a time!

I quit using deodorants and I also now use Dr. Bronner’s for soap and shampoo in the shower. I don’t wear makeup very much, so that’s my next big thing.

I use coconut oil on my entire body, including face; baking soda every 2-3 days for my hair (yes, you’ll miss the sudsing!); baking soda/coconut oil/tea tree oil for my teeth and coconut oil/baking soda for d.o. 

As a recent newbie to your site, I’m eager to start with any of these recipes, though I think homemade, natural lotion or shampoo intrigues me most!

I have already ditched my facial toner, toothpaste, exfoliants, and moisturizers, thanks in large part to the recipes I’ve found on this site.  I’m excited to try out the deodorant and hair conditioner recipes and microdermabrasion tips as well!

I already went natural. All I use on my face is olive oil or coconut oil. When i had skin cancer on my nose removed,which took of most of the tip, I used something called miracle salve, which is made up of coconut oil,plantain leaf, comfrey root, calendula flowers, olive oil, beeswax,propolis, lavendar and rosemary essencial oils. When the doctor saw my nose he was quite amazed, and said”it’s a miracle.” I am 51 and my skin has never looked better.

I can’t wait to try the recipe for the natural lotion bars. I made the sugar scrub as a Christmas gift for my Mom, sister and step sisters!

I’ve been using the toothpaste recipe from this site for about 9 months and I love it.  I recently tried another brand of coconut oil based toothpaste, but I only used it twice and threw it away.  I also use my Norwex cloths to remove eye makeup…so easy!!!  Wash my face with honey.  I’ve made my own deodorant, but gave it all up at the beginning of the summer due to irritation and haven’t been using deodorant at all.  Maybe I should try it with arrowroot?  I’d really like to make my own lotions, sunscreen and makeup…that will be next!

I had to ditch my beauty products and shampoo after finding out I am having reactions to almost all of them…no wonder I was so miserable.  I have been learning how to create products with natural alternatives and the recipes I have found here….still haven’t found a good shampoo alternative for myself yet, but otherwise…..I love using Almond and Coconut oils, these work on my skin well for moisture.  I need to try making soap still.
