Today I get to chat with Louie Schwartzberg, an award-winning filmmaker who brings nature to life on screen. He’s been at this for over 4 decades, has 3 TED talks, and his Soaring Around the World Ride film is one of the most popular rides at Disney. Growing up with parents who were Holocaust survivors, Louie learned how important it is to appreciate the beauty in life and all the little things it’s easy to take for granted. As a mom, this really resonates with me as I try to encourage the natural-born wonder in my own children.
I’ve been a big fan of Louie’s work for a long time and his series Moving Art is frequently on in the background at our house. His newest film project is called Gratitude and it delves into why gratitude is so important for all of us. We also touch on his previous film, Fantastic Fungi, and how it encourages us to lean into our surrounding communities.
I hope you enjoy today’s talk as much as I did, so let’s jump in with Louie!
