1410 1 Cultures for Health Water Kefir GIVEAWAY!I’m so glad to be able to offer another awesome giveaway this week and share a product I’ve fallen in love with! I recently discovered the probiotic and vitamin rich beverages Water Kefir and Kombucha, and was so excited to find an inexpensive and homemade source of probiotcs.

Even better, these beverages can be carbonated to taste like natural soda! While I’ve never missed the high fructose corn syrup and sickeningly sweet taste of regular soda, I’ve always enjoyed the carbonation, especially during early pregnancy. Now there an alternative that is not only free of harmful ingredients, but is actually good for you!

Cultures for Health, the company I ordered my water kefir grains from, has agreed to giveaway a Water Kefir starter set to one of my readers! This set comes with the water kefir grains, a bamboo strainer and all the instructions needed to get started making your own natural soda.

For those not familiar with Water Kefir, it is a probiotic rich beverage that is made from a colony of beneficial yeast and bacteria in a sugar water solution. The yeasts/bacteria eat the sugar and create the probiotics. This FAQ has a lot more information about Water Kefir.

These water kefir grains are reusable and mine have been creating a new 1/2 gallon batch of water kefir every 24-48 hours. With the proper care, they can last indefinitely, so your probiotics are literally pennies a glass! (Did I mention it gets carbonated like soda?!)

If you’ve been working to get more probiotics in your diet or are still struggling to kick a soda habit, I really recommend that you try water kefir.

    Have you added any flavors to your kefir? I fell in love with a citrus kombucha but its too expensive and I’ve only bought it for 2 special occasions.     I’ve added grape, blueberry, pomegranate, and others. Citrus is good
    too, though it gets stringy if you let it ferment for too long. I’d
    definitely encourage trying to make it… so much cheaper… and
    better in my opinion!

    I have subscribed to the cultures for Health newsletter. I love how much of a boost probiotics give the immune system. Last I read, 70 to 80% of our immune systems are actually dependent on probiotic bacteria in the intestines. I definitely notice a different while eating/drinking fermented products. xD I also used to eat sauerkraut before bed to get rid of bloating and wake up with a flat tummy! Also, these foods are tasty and easily digestible. I think that might put a bit of a dent into why I love fermented foods/drinks.
