Types of coconut oils and their benefits
Wellness Mama » Blog » Reviews » Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil Review

I’ve talked before about how much we use coconut oil and shared my list of 101 uses. We use coconut oil in everything from deodorant to toothpaste to cooking. I even use it in my coffee

I often get asked and wanted to share my favorite brand of coconut oil: Tropical Traditions Gold Label. (check out the bottom of this post for a free coconut oil gift)

Tropical Traditions offers several different types of coconut oil. I like the taste of coconut so we use the gold label for everything, but their chart shows the difference in the various types:

Types of coconut oils and their benefits

Some of the reasons we’ve decided to use Tropical Traditions coconut oil:

  • All of their coconut oils are organic and non-GMO
  • All are made without the use of chemicals (unlike vegetable oils)
  • Coconut oils are not hydrogenated and don’t contain trans fats
  • Coconut oil contains high levels of Medium Chain Tryglicerides and Lauric Acid- good fats that support health
  • Gold Level is hand made and has high levels of antioxidants
  • All TT coconut oils are packaged in glass instead of plastic to preserve the quality of the coconut oil and keep any plastics from leaching in to the oils

We’ve completely removed any vegetable oils from our house and only use coconut oil. I love that my kids are getting beneficial fats in everything that I cook and it works great in homemade lotions and body products.

Their expeller pressed coconut oil doesn’t have the taste of coconut so it is a good option for those who don’t like the taste.

Lost a lot of weight after starting to take coconut oil, plus so many other benefits you and others have enumerated so well. No need to take space on your page to repeat.

There are so many reasons I like coconut oil. I guess mostly it’s the health benefits, but I also love the taste and like how it prevents things like eggs from sticking to the pan.

I’ve been changing my and my family’s lifestyle significantly and this is one of the areas I’d like to change, but am scared about which brand to try first. So I thought this would be a great way to try a product and hopfully be a customer for life!

I love to cook with coconut oil, although I haven’t tried the gold label yet, does it taste like coconut? I subscribe to the TT newsletter.

Sorry but coconut oil is a third world crop and unless they are the actual manufacturers and they have their own coconut Plantation it’s a crap shoot as to what you are actually getting. Having personal firsthand knowledge is invaluable I am fortunate to know a manufacturer and grower and the horror tales of the underbelly of the coconut oil business are real.
Hands down quality third generation family owned small batch handcrafted is Coco therapy nobody touches them their Market is targeted for pets but more people use it as well, my chiropractor sells it in her office because once you taste and smell and learn about the manufacturer you’ll never use anything else. Bruce Fife one of the world’s leading lipid experts endorses no oil and yet he used their jar on the cover of one of his books, enough said

I like that it is solid at room temp so that it has great binding properties in recipes.

Quick question, what bulk would you recommend for coconut oil? Do you buy it by the gallon? Thanks for the info!

I have been using coconut oil for a while now and I love the flavor it adds, great in baking or more savory stuff like a stirfry. Does TT come in a glass jar? I have been using Nutiva which is ok but I wish it didn’t come in plastic.

It does come in glass jar. I joke you managed to get yourself some and hope your loving it.
I just got some myself but unfortunately living in UK I pay double for the delivery costs :/
I know there is other ones here that I can opt to instead maybe go for raw organic extra Virginia of there is such one over here from the list I have seen advertised in UK as basic one 😉 use this one as treats 😉
