Natural supplements and holistic remedies that offer proven health benefits are big in my house. One that I always keep on hand is colloidal silver. This sometimes controversial supplement was used before antibiotics existed for bacterial infections and to support the immune system.

Colloidal silver products are still often used today and many holistic health experts say that it’s a highly beneficial cure-all. On the flip side, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved the use of colloidal silver for any health purpose, and other health care experts like doctors from Mayo Clinic also do not believe that it is safe.

Despite this, with the rise of antibiotic resistance, silver is making a comeback as a powerful broad-spectrum antimicrobial. Many swear by colloidal silver for everything from pink eye to ear infections.

So is colloidal silver really a safe and useful natural remedy?

What Is Colloidal Silver?

Colloidal silver is made when silver nanoparticles are synthesized and suspended in a solution of simple sugars and ammonia. These particles are so small that they aren’t visible to the eye and can be as tiny as one ten-thousandth the width of a human hair. That’s extremely tiny!

Modern medicine still relies on silver for antibacterial benefits:

  • Many medical companies coat their devices with silver to avoid bacterial biofilms.
  • Hospitals treat newborns with silver nitrate drops to prevent gonorrhea eye infections.
  • Silver solutions or gauze are used to help treat burn wounds.

Colloidal silver is generally considered safe to use, but it is important to be informed about what studies say with respect to its safety and effectiveness, and whether excessive use may harm us or the environment.

The size of the colloidal silver particles is the most important thing that determines if they have health benefits or not, with smaller particles and lower concentrations being most effective against harmful antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

How Does Colloidal Silver Work?

Scientists have observed that silver kills germs, but they still don’t completely understand how. A lack of strong scientific evidence means the use of colloidal silver is still somewhat controversial.

The general idea is that silver nanoparticles bind to bacteria cell walls. A fraction of these nanoparticles may react to substances in the body or the environment and become silver salt, which is antimicrobial.

Although most colloidal silver is made from silver salts, they are different things. Silver salts are a lot more toxic to both humans and bacteria than colloidal silver. Silver salts have a positive charge that binds up proteins, cause DNA damage, and disrupt the respiratory processes in bacteria. Silver nanoparticles may be neutral or negatively charged, depending on how it is synthesized.

Silver ions are more likely to cause silver toxicity or argyria in humans than the colloidal version. However, because a fraction of colloidal silver may become silver salt, overconsumption of colloidal silver can still cause silver toxicity when taken at very high doses.

Since it is potent, it’s important to be careful when using this supplement.

Benefits of Colloidal Silver

Silver is a metal and a non-essential element in the body. It is much safer to a human body than other heavy metals like lead and mercury. We can accumulate much more silver in our bodies before it becomes toxic.

Research suggests that colloidal silver works for:

  • Killing and preventing bacterial growth, including bacteria that is antibiotic-resistant.
  • Treating burn infections as a topical antimicrobial
  • Killing some strains of pathogenic yeasts, including Candida and Cryptococcus
  • Preventing certain viruses, like HIV/AIDS and RSV, from entering human cells
  • Reducing inflammation from contact dermatitis and irritating rashes in animal studies
  • Disrupting bacterial biofilm (a slimy shield that allows bacteria to hide from antibiotics) in sinus infections in sheep
  • Being toxic to certain cancer cells
  • Effectively fighting bacteria that can cause deadly diarrhea (Vibrio cholera and a dangerous strain of E. coli).
  • Fighting fungal infections on the skin.

A Note About Bacteria, Viruses, and Yeasts

To date, all studies that test the effects of colloidal silver with bacteria found that it is effective. There are mixed reviews when it comes to yeasts and viruses.

A comprehensive study by naturopathic doctors in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that it is only effective against some strains of yeasts but not others. That same study found that colloidal silver is not effective against viruses.

Another in vitro study in the Journal of Wound Care tested 3 different market brands and found no effectiveness whatsoever.

Colloidal silver is a powerful antimicrobial. However, its effectiveness as an antiviral or antifungal can vary depending on the particular infection and quality of the product itself.

Is Colloidal Silver Safe?

Natural remedies are appealing, but safety is an important issue.

There have not been large studies done in humans to truly examine whether colloidal silver is safe or effective. Most tests are done in vitro, meaning that they’re done in test tubes or Petri dishes. This allows researchers to understand how it behaves in isolated situations. But the human body isn’t isolated, and having a whole-body understanding is different from in vitro studies.

A human body is a lot more complex than a Petri dish! Just because something kills germs in a Petri dish doesn’t mean we should take it to prevent or treat an infection. We still need to understand how silver affects the rest of the body, and whether it can travel to where we need it most if taken internally. More studies are needed to understand how it works in our bodies (in vivo).

With the evidence that we do have, though, we can make some conclusions:

Gut Changes

As with many supplements, colloidal silver can affect other parts of the body that go beyond the reason it’s being taken. Two animal studies independently looked at how the gut bacteria balance of mice and rats was affected by being fed colloidal silver. The results found a disruption in gut flora.

Another study that examined digestive tissue after the ingestion of colloidal silver found that it can damage gut cells. Yet a newer study in Nanotoxicology that looked at mice found no changes to gut bacteria or cell structure.

So, there are mixed reviews.

It’s also not known how effective colloidal silver is outside of the gut, elsewhere in the body. When colloidal silver is taken internally, the small intestine can absorb around 10 to 18% of silver nanoparticles into the bloodstream. The remaining silver nanoparticles pass through the gut.

In the blood, nanoparticles bind to a protein called albumin as it gets carried around the body. Silver proteins are a lot less effective against germs than silver alone, so we really don’t know how it behaves throughout the body.

Skin Discoloration (argyria)

It is possible to get too much silver build-up in the body. This condition is called argyria or argylosis, where silver accumulates in tissues and turns the person blue or gray… permanently! When this happens, the silver does not usually cause health problems in other ways, although it can be traumatic to have discolored skin.

Antibiotics

Colloidal silver might seem like a promising option over antibiotics, but it still has some of the side effects of antibiotics. For this reason, I’ve always exercised caution and not over-used it, as evidence shows it may be harmful if used regularly or over a long period of time.

Gut bacteria can also become resistant to colloidal silver, just like with antibiotics. This is especially true when it has been used for several generations.

Environmental Issues

Silver nanoparticles cause some environmental concerns. Currently, silver nanoparticles are present in the environment at concentrations that are about one thousand times the dose that would be toxic to fish and other marine animals.

Silver nanoparticles are also found in sewage sludge that is used in landfills. This presents a risk of it getting reabsorbed back into the food supply. While it is somewhat known how colloidal silver affects human gut bacteria, it is still not completely clear how it affects the health of bacteria, yeasts, and other microorganisms in the environment.

Since the health of our soil is closely linked to the health of the gut, we need to be careful about messing it up.

Pregnancy

Group B Strep (GBS) is a bacteria that is commonly found in humans, but during pregnancy it can represent the risk of infection for the baby during the birthing process. Antibiotics are given to prevent complications. Mothers wanting to avoid antibiotics might wonder if colloidal silver is a safe alternative.

Colloidal silver has not been studied specifically for GBS or generally for pregnancy. Because it can be toxic—and because supplements in pregnancy can have unknown effects on the developing baby—it’s important not to use supplements to self-medicate during pregnancy, either internally or topically.

Cautions for Colloidal Silver

Colloidal silver is a natural remedy that has been used for thousands of years. Does that mean it should still be used today? There is reason to be careful about using it.

  • Colloidal silver is marketed as a dietary supplement and is relatively unregulated. Only the manufacturer is responsible for the safety and effectiveness of their products. A random test of colloidal silver products for sale found several that were ineffective or even contaminated with bacteria. Yuck!
  • While colloidal silver might be safe and effective when used externally, or when targeting pathogens in the gut, it can also have unintended consequences. Because colloidal silver does have some side effects, research suggests using it carefully rather than liberally.
  • Colloidal silver can mess with or enhance the effects or side effects of some medications. Always check with your doctor before starting it or using it alongside anything else.

As discussed above, the safest use based on studies is external application to wounds and as a sinus rinse.

Colloidal Silver Products

If you choose to buy colloidal silver, it’s important to make sure you’re getting a pure product. Colloidal silver ingredients should only include silver and water. There should not be anything else in it.

When choosing your product, you also want to keep the particle size in mind. This refers to how big (or small) the nanoparticles of silver are. The concentration of particles per unit of water is listed in parts per million, or PPM. Basically, how many silver particles are collected per serving of water.

When you’re looking at buying colloidal silver, higher PPM is not better. Supplements are considered to be safest when they are between 10 and 20 PPM. Taking in too much colloidal silver can result in becoming toxic or having other complications, like the graying of skin.

If you choose to use colloidal silver, be sure to buy from a reputable brand. There are many available, but this is the brand I keep on hand for external use and as a sinus rinse.

How to Use Colloidal Silver

While we’ve covered some concerns, there are lots of ways to use colloidal silver safely as a part of your natural medicine cabinet.

Check out the ways that you can use colloidal silver:

  • Nasal rinse: Add a few drops to distilled water (don’t combine with salt!) and use your neti pot as usual to rinse the sinus cavity.
  • Ear infections: Use 2-3 drops in the ear, a few times a day, until symptoms subside.
  • Pink eye: Add 2-3 drops directly to the infected eye, 3-4 times daily or until symptoms go away.
  • Skin fungus or ringworm: Treat patchy skin infections with a few drops applied directly 2-3 times per day. Let dry on the skin to get the full effect.
  • Toenail infections: Add 2-3 drops to the top of the infected toenail. Use 3-4 times a day until symptoms clear up.
  • First aid disinfectant: Use as you would other antibacterial creams for minor cuts, scrapes, or bug bites.
  • Acne: Add 1-2 drops to acne breakouts 3-4 times a day.
  • Gingivitis: Add 1 teaspoon to purified water and swish in the mouth, 2-3 times per day.

Argyria or blue man effect comes from ionic forms of silver used for years at very high levels. When you get so much in your system that your body cannot wash it out fast enough (through both urine and feces), then your body walls it off inside of cells to get rid of it. When those cells are exposed to light, the ionic silver tarnishes like your grandma’s silver tea pot and it turns a grey or blueish color. It does not damage the cells.

So the real question you are asking is how much can you safely drink daily and never get it (Argyria).
The best real answer probably comes from the US EPA. The US EPA had to establish a safe daily intake limit because silver was being used in food and water products as a preservative and disinfectant. In June of 1993 the EPA released what is called the RED Document (Registration Eligibility Document for silver). On the second page in the fourth paragraph they established that daily dose to be 0.005 mg/kg/day for a normal sized adult. In translated English what that means is that an average size adult can safety consume about one ounce daily of a ten ppm silver liquid for an average life span of 72 years. On the third page in the fourth paragraph it states that “The EPA does not anticipate that dietary exposure to these low levels of silver will be associated with any significant degree of risk”.
I hope that answers your question.

    Hi there.
Very comprehensive article, many thanks for sharing. I have one question:
How long (on average) would you consider a prolonged period of time before you start to see side effects such as turning blue?
From reading up on other articles / products they state not to exceed 14 days – does this sound acceptable?
Also some articles claim that blue skin is a side effect of the cheaper “non true colloidal silver” – would you say this is not true?

I almost lost my dog to a bad stomach virus that she was throwing up and severe diarrhea. As soon as I gave her colloidal silver I bought from GNC the very next day she was up and getting better. Now whenever she has diarrhea from some bacteria in her system I just pour a couple teaspoons in her water. It also saved my cat that had a bad respiratory infection and stopped eating. In one day he was back to normal! I’m so glad I found this better than antibiotics to me. I used it once on myself n it works

    1. I have had so many good results from Colloidal Silver! I just had an extremely sore throat last week, and I started taking a tsp of CS 4 times a day..for 3 days..and its completely gone!! Along with the flu virus I felt coming.
    2. Two puppies had contracted the puppy parvo virus in my town, the owners did not have the money to go to the vet, so they both used CS alone and the puppies made a full recovery.
    3. I had contracted pink eye from work, so I put 2 drops of CS in each eye for 2 days and it completely cleared up.
    4. My cat had a feline virus that was shutting down his organs, I bound him in a towel, and administered the CS using an eyedropper at least 4 times in the day, by the second day he was sitting up licking himself and by the 3rd day, made full recovery.
These are just a few of the many wonderful benefits I have enjoyed for Colloidal Silver.

Nano Silver Cures Malaria. Here is another study for you. I think you will like it. Malaria is a parasite not a bacteria or virus. It is the second leading cause of death by infection on the earth today. This is an independent published human study showing that nano silver 10 ppm can treat Malaria (all four types) in an average of 5 days. The published study is based on 56 human case studies from 4 different hospitals in Ghana West Africa. They drank 1 ounce daily in two divided doses. All were healed, there were no treatment failures. There were also no negative side effects.

My X brother in law almost died from Lyme disease and also in part from the yeast the antibiotics caused. He was cured and healthy after taking the colonial silver. He was sick for over a year, it did not take that long to recover after the colonial silver.

If you would like to know what the government agency in charge of toxicity (EPA) has to say about the safety of consuming silver and how much you can safely drink, I can tell you where to find it. It is called the RED document or Registration Eligibility Document for silver. It dictates how much silver can be used in food or drinks etc., as a preservative or colorant. If my memory serves me and it usually does, the info is located on second page, in the fourth paragraph, it states that the rfd on silver (recommended daily intake limit) is 0.005 ml/kg day. Translated into English what that means is that according to the US Govenment agency in charge, an average sized adult could drink about one ounce daily of a 10 ppm silver product and be safe in doing so. I think the exact quote again if my memory serves me is found on the third page, fourth paragraph. I believe it states, ” the EPA does not anticipate that dietary exposure to these low levels of silver will be associated with any significant degree of risk.” I hope that info cleared up that question for at least some of you who like solid, clear data and not just personal opinions. Have a great evening.

Must admit, although I was at first confused by the amount of info either way on this subject, the pro silver people are really angry, a little rude and mainly anecdotal while AJ seems to state the facts in a calm explanatory way (he/she also seems to have better grammar but that’s just my personal quirk).
I really came into this with an open mind -having had good luck with colloidal silver with my dogs – but now it seems the cons outweigh the pros and I’ll just stay away from it.

      1. keith Avatar

I did not mean to be rude, i must have been a little tired. I am sorry for that, i had just flown in from India. I am a little puzzled though how a direct quote from the top toxicity agency in the US Government could be called Anecdotal. They are the direct agency who decides what levels of minerals for example, are safe for everyday usage. That info is about as fact as fact gets, where am i wrong in that?

        1. keith Avatar

I will be happy to add some more fact info to the conversation. I hope you find it useful, it cost us $350,000.00 dollars to complete the three human oral intake tests. This info will stun many of you. This is the first ever Published, Peer Reviewed silver human ingestion studies in the history of the world, They were IRB Board controlled and FDA cleared. We tested the SB Nano silver for safety by ingestion at ppms of 10 and 32. There was no negative action in any system of the body. We also tested for negative drug interaction and there was none. We also in the third report tested for negative blood interaction and there was none. Below are the direct links to the abstracts available in PUBMED, They are easy to read and available to all at the click of a button, I hope that info helps!

You are kidding right? You want cytotoxicity tests completed on humans? I think the Nazi’s did that type of thing in the 40’s, but it was not accepted practice then nor is allowed these days. All the work has to be completed at name brand independent labs. Cytotoxicity is done in vitro (in a test tube) Because in order to get a good count you have to have cells examined and counted under a microscope, looking to see if there is cell damage and if so how much. Again the SB nano silver caused no problems at all. For approval you also have to complete both skin irritation and skin sensivity tests and those are tests that can be completed on living humans. The good news is that the nano silver caused no skin irritation, nor skin sensitivity. Which if it killed cells it would of!

    1. AJ Avatar

I didn’t say that I want silver to be tested on humans!! What I said was that equating a few cells in a test tube to the entire human body is very misleading and certainly not thoughtful science. The human body is far far far more complex in its entirety than a number of cells in a vial. Also, just looking at skin irritation is short-sighted as there are a whole lot of other pathologies it may cause that are far more of a concern than minor irritation. Isn’t that how cell phone companies have claimed that phones are safe for use? They look only at whether the radio frequencies emitted by cell phones have a thermal effect, that is warm up the skin; the conclusion was no… but they didn’t look at how these frequencies affect human DNA, cell membrane transport, nervous system, etc.

  8. Keith Avatar

I saw it come up again, the question of if silver nano particles were toxic to human cells. Used at low levels it is not at all. We just had our SB 10 ppm liquid cleared by the FDA as an antimicrobial (bacteria, yeast killing) wound and skin cleanser. No other ingredients just the nano silver water. As part of the testing, we had to do we did numerous cytotoxicity tests (will it hurt or damage human or animal cells? ). The answer is that the SB10 ppm nano silver liquid did not damage the human or animal cells. What it did do was to kill all the problem bacteria and yeast very quickly, so the FDA cleared it for hospital and Doctor use!

    1. AJ Avatar

How was this test done? If it involves applying your nano silver to cells in a Petrie dish, then I would say you have not proven very much. Human physiology and biochemistry is much more complex than a cell culture.

      1. Karen Avatar

AJ, the way that a physician chooses which antibiotic will work for his patient is called a sensitivity study.

In the microbiology laboratory, several agar plates are first inoculated with the appropriate fluid from the patient. This is incubated to cause the bacteria to grow into colonies, and upon examination of microscope slides wherein the bacteria grown is stained with acid fast or grams stains, the scientist can make positive identification of the infectious agent. Then the causative bacteria is put on agar again, but this time little paper discs saturated with various antibiotics are put onto the plate as well. Whichever of the discs has most prevented the growth after incubation, is the antibiotic of choice for treating the patient. (This is done especially when the 1st standard prescribed antibiotic therapy has been unsucessful, and/or when the patient is in danger because the infection has gone into the blood stream or meningeal fluid. At that point it cannot be left to hit-or-miss with “the usuallly prescribed” medication.

I tell you this as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. I have done these procedures myself.
Just want you to understand that using “test tubes and petri dishes” has long been a standard and approved practice for determining what does and does not work. And even though there are problems with many antibiotics and many here are unhappy with their side effects, (much overused, and I dislike them too for all but the most serious infections) one day an antibiotic might save the life of someone here reading or yourself precisely because a “test tube and petri dish” actually DID identify both the infectious agent and the medication that would kill it quickest.

I seriously do not like the overuse of antibiotics, and reading the studies presented regarding nanosilver usage, as a scientist I am impressed, and hope that careful use prevents overuse of antibiotics.

I am just learning about colloidal silver and was curious your thoughts on the 3 categories it can fall in. I read one colloidal solution which sounds like water down and it is the cheapest brand. Then a protein one that adds gelatin. Then the best being a true colloidal silver that it made with specific equipment. (Which sounded a lot like when I was hunting for the best type of coconut oil). Apparently the first two used incorrectly can cause the “blue” thing. But not the true. So far as to what I’ve read anyway. I really enjoy your blog and was surprised your opinion was so different than others I’d read. So I’d like to know if you’ve heard of these categories and your thoughts.

Hi AJ; it’s late and I don’t have time to write a lot; but I just wanted to thank you for your input. We can all get a little emotional when it comes to health; and health-care; because sadly; we’ve all been lied to so much about all of it. Sadder yet; we’ve been lied to on BOTH sides; by allopathic (“Regular” medicine) AND by SOME Naturopathic medicine. (Sadly there are some quacks on that side of the fence as well; they are probably not true experts in the field but pretend to be; just to make quick money.) So people; when having something they hold near and dear to them as being ‘real’ or ‘true”, can get a little testy when someone comes along and offers a different view. Please don’t let anyone on here or anywhere else throw you; or stop you from offering your perspective. It’s good to look at all sides. Don’t be discouraged; your view is welcomed just as much as other’s views are. Just wanted you to know that.

My dog had a goopy, thick whitish (and a slightly odorous ) discharge coming from one of her eyes for two days this past week. At first I didn’t think too much of it, but it started to progress. On closer inspection I could see that the upper part of her eye under her lid was very red and also the outside perimeter of her eyeball. I figured she had a mild infection starting so I cleaned the exterior of the eye area with warm sea salt water to clear away the discharge and put ONE SINGLE DROP of Sovereign Silver in her eye; all of this was done right before bed. By the next morning the redness was almost completely gone and the “goop” was virtually non-existent. (Please note that I ONLY mention brand because that is what I happen to have on hand right now, January 7, 2017). I kept watch on her eye that day with the intent that if it continued to look irritated and mucous-y I would put a single drop 2-3 more times throughout the day until it cleared up, Turns out I had NO need to do that. It is now two days later and the eye looks great! I think it just needed a little “boost” and her body took care of the rest. If I had gone to the vet at the first sign of this situation I would be out at least a $60-75 “consult” plus the cost of antibiotics which she would likely have been on for two weeks and which would have come with its own host of additional issues. I saved money, time, inconvenience, and stress on my dog. I am, after all, her FAVORITE “Vet”. ;0)

My family and I have used colloidal silver for years! It is expensive to buy so after tons of research we put together a silver kit to make our own. I have since made hundreds of gallons for internal (12-15 PPM) and external (25-30 PPM) use. My silver kit makes around 200 gallons for less than $200. I also clean with it, at a stronger PPM (30-40PPM), it is the PERFECT air freshener, non-toxic and naturalizes odors immediately! I clean everything from kitchen counters to our toilets, no masks or gloves needed!
I find it amazing that big Pharma can scare the public with false stories, they say they have no research saying silver works yet it is used today in EVERY burn unit…but they can say it causes Argyria. I have attached an article about that, the blue-man was not consuming colloidal silver, he was consuming silver chloride (salt was added which makes it chemically different then colloidal silver). I thank the Good Lord for providing us everything we need….natrually!!

As for silver killing good gut flora…..

Bacteria comes in two forms; anaerobic and aerobic.

Good bacteria breathe oxygen, are aerobic and carry a positive charge. The positive charge enables the bacteria to attract the oxygen in which these bacteria require to breathe.

Pathogenic (bad) bacteria are negatively charged, anaerobic and if oxidized, will die. Negatively charged bacteria and negatively charged oxygen will attract and bind with silver particles, become neutralized and will oxidize the pathogen and therefore destroying it.

Just to clarify….these claims are based on YEARS of personal use with no side effects!

    Dear Katie and Lovely Commenters,
I’m currently moving, but I wanted to take a moment to leave a quick comment. And if you’ve already said these things I apologize I am in a hurry. Firstly, not all colloidal silver is created equally. Most of what’s on the Shelf is ionic silver not good for the body. My father’s name is Jerry Petermann, and he is a scientist and he is producing the real colloidal silver for South American countries like Ecuador. Ecuador’s banana crops are producing half of what they should because they have disease the colloidal silver that he is producing kills that disease. He and his partner have permission from the Ecuadorian government to produce and Street the banana trees not only has it helped but it is also killed another disease that they didn’t even know about something about root rot. My father also has a company called Time Challenger, and sells his products including the real colloidal silver on the internet and through the national radio show The Power Hour with Joyce Riley. My husband and I took loads of colloidal silver over this holiday and managed to not get the flu. It was amazing and I’m so thankful. I hope this post helps you and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact my father he would be happy to help you. Please forgive his website as he is still working on it and that is not his Forte, whereas science most definitely is.

Katie, You might want to consider what the Mayo Clinic has to say about colloidal silver and as I can say from experience regarding the “prescription” Jerry Petermann recommended for my 96 year old father taken in rather large doses at Christmas time 2015, it may not have been what a medical doctor would have prescribed. After a week of giving my father the doses your father recommended, I began notice a decline in my father’s health and discontinued any further use. My father suffered a mass in the speech area of his brain as well as kidney failure and died March 14th 2016. Your father may have made a mistake in lab.

“Rarely, excessive doses of colloidal silver can cause possibly irreversible serious health problems, including kidney damage and neurological problems such as seizures. Colloidal silver products may also interact with medications, including penicillamine (Cuprimine, Depen), quinolone antibiotics, tetracycline and thyroxine (Levothroid, Levoxyl, Synthroid) medications”

      https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/consumer-health/expert-answers/colloidal-silver/faq-20058061

      And from https://altered-states.net/index2.php?/healing/toxicity.htm :

“In addition to argyria, the intake of very large doses (far in excess of the amount that causes discoloration of the skin) of silver can cause neurological damage, organ damage, and arteriosclerosis.”

“Adult Dose – Start on 15ml under the tongue for one minute first thing in the morning and allow five minutes before food or drink. This amount should be taken for the first 3-4 days then increase to 15ml morning and night for a 30 day period, this will give a general cleansing to the system. After this a maintenance dose of 10ml daily.”

From your father’s “prescription” – “It would be best if you gave your Dad one ounce (shot glass) of Colloidal Silver every other hour during the day so that he would finish a whole bottle in 1 1/2 days. If you can get him to do this, give him at least two bottles, three is better over a week’s time. The idea is to get the silver level in his blood to a constant level for 4-5 days.”

I have pictures of my father from Christmas of 2015. He was doing ok and his weight was good. His appetite was also good. He was a little sore from a fall on November 10th 2015 and suffered some hematuria that was not causing him any pain. I was very concerned and wanted him to go get checked out but he refused. Then by mid January I began to notice he was losing weight and then three weeks before he passed he started to have problems moving his right arm. The masses doses your father prescribed for my 96 year old father was way too much. 15 ml and or 10 ml is recommended. Your father prescribed 1 1/2 ounces (44.3603 ml) every other hour. I honestly believe your father’s prescription contributed to my father’s decline in health and death. To think he was still driving up until November 10th of 2015. I think it’s great he using it on bananas but experimenting on humans is out of the question. I understand Ecuador will not extradite back to the US.

I’ve been thinking about taking collodial silver for Lyme disease too. One of my doctors recommended it a couple of years ago, but something about it gave me pause. I’m all for homeopathic, natural treatments, but I’m just not sure about this one for me.

I recently had to have all of my mercury fillings removed due to health problems related to the Lyme, so putting another metal into my body is concerning to say the least. This article and discussion have definitely given me more to consider.

I keep hearing people say that nano silver is not safe for human ingestion and that it was never proven to be safe in actual human clinical trials. Again that would be incorrect. We did them and they cost us $350,000.00 (US) to complete. These are three studies cleared by the US FDA and peer reviewed and published, each in a different registered journal. The links are free and it takes you to the abstracts directly available on PUB MEDS site. The first link will show the study where they drank the NANO silver at ppm levels of between 10 and 32 ppm daily for weeks. They tested numerous body systems and found NO negative action in any of them, the first long version of the report showed that unlike ionic silver, the nano silver washed out of the body in 24 hours, In other words it went in did its job and washed out. The second study shows that if the silver was consumed with the P450 drugs (because some people need to take other drugs for other health reasons) the oral or daily drunk silver had no negative action on any of the other drugs the people were taking. The third study showed that the silver made it into the blood stream and that it has no negative action on the red blood cells. A lot of people argue that you always need more data, and every study i have ever had completed said that on the bottom (mostly i think because the labs want to get paid to do more work) it is a never ending cycle. The constant need for additional knowledge is why we currently have over 400 major studies and reports on the nano silver, with more being completed right now. I have another study on MRSA that will publish in the next two-three months. But i also believe we have demonstrated sufficient safety that any normal person can feel confident that they will be safe drinking a small daily dose of Nano silver. The links are:

there is another book on silver, it is the best one i know of and it is free. you can find it at http://www.silveruseinstitute.com. It covers in detail all the discussion items that have been listed as well as protocols for use. It also lists all the reports used to back its position.
