My Lotion Bars are one of my most visited posts and one of my favorite recipes as well. They are easy to make, last a long time and are very moisturizing without being oily. They are safe on children and babies and can be used on eczema or dry skin.
I only use Lotion Bars or plain coconut oil on my skin anymore. There are also endless variations with different scents or herbs that can be added or they can be made into sunscreen bars or deodorant bars by adding just a couple ingredients.
Today, I’m excited to team up with Mountain Rose Herbs to give away the ingredients to make my lotion bars to one lucky winner! I love Mountain Rose Herbs and have a cabinet in my kitchen full of their various herbs, spices, oils and butters, and I’m happy to share them with you.
The Prize:
- 32oz Coconut Oil (Virgin Unrefined)- Cold Pressed/Unrefined. This is a truly spectacular oil with a deep and mildly intoxicating scent of pure coconut pulp and it’s one of the most revered oils for nutritional purposes. It’s 100% certified organic through OTCO.
- 4oz Cocoa Butter- An aromatic solid butter pressed from the roasted seeds of the cacao tree (Theobroma cacao) and further processed to yield a warm color and delightful odor. Will soften at body temperature and adds a rich, creamy and thick consistency to lotions, soaps, creams and toiletry items to help reduce cutaneous dryness and for the improvement of skin elasticity. A soothing ingredient commonly found in most cosmetic preparations and now fair trade certified.
- 1lb Beeswax Pastilles- These pastilles have a deep golden color, rich aroma and the average dimension of each pastille is 3 mm.
- 1/2oz Organic Lavender Essential Oil- Traditional Use: Lavender oil is known for its skin healing properties and its use as a sedative. The herb has been used for strewing, and the flowers are used as an aromatic. Properties: Analgesic, antibacterial, antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antirheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, aromatic, carminative, cholagogue, deodorant, diuretic, emmenagogue, hypotensive, insecticide, nervine, sedative, stimulant, stomachic, vulnerary
