Wellness Challenge- Wrapping It Up

wellness plate better my plate recommendations Wellness Challenge Wrapping It Up

I can’t believe the Wellness Challenge wraps up this week!

It has been wonderful hearing from everyone on the forum and getting to know you all. I’m hoping you will still drop by the forum after the challenge and say hi… I’m going to miss all the great posting there.

The Grand Prize Update

I’ve already gotten one email about progress during the challenge. If you are planning to enter for the grand prize, drop me an email during the next two days with your story-progress, challenges, etc. Include photos if you want to.

I will post the top 5 entrants (based on email and overall participation) for voting later this week.

The reader-chosen winner of the 30-Day Challenge will receive:

  • 3 months of individual or family  Nutritional and Wellness Coaching with me via weekly phone calls or skype and unlimited emails PLUS complete wellness and natural living evaluation ($1,299 value!) with meal plans, recipes, and step-by-step help. I’m currently not accepting any new clients, so this person will be the only new client I accept this year.
  • A year’s supply (a whole case) of all-natural, handcrafted Herbal Katie soaps ($50 value)
  • A gift basket of Herbal Katie teas and spices  ($50 value)
  • A copy of Fat Head on DVD ($15 value)
  • Copy of Primal Toad’s wonderful Smoothie e-book, filled with kid (and adult!) approved smoothie recipes ($10 value).

How To Win

To keep it fair, I’ll let all of you vote on the top 5 entrants during the last week of the challenge. To be considered for the top 5 and be included in the voting, a person must:

  1. Email me during the last week of the challenge and tell me how the challenge was for you. Good details and bad, the struggles and the progress…. include it all. Pictures and video (of food or you!) are great but not necessary. This will count for half of your “score”
  2. The other half of your score will be tallied from participation on the forum, in comments and on facebook or twitter. Log fitday? Post the screen shots on facebook. Keep a food journal in the Wellness Journals. Encourage others in their own trials… even entering the daily contests…  it all counts!

If I Could Only Eat Five Foods Forever Contest

This contest for a bag of Coconut Flour from Tropical Traditions challenged you to think of the five foods you would eat if you could only have five for the rest of your life.

It seems we would all be healthy and happy eating bacon and eggs!

My top 5 would be: coconut (in all forms), spinach, eggs, grassfed meat, sweet potatoes. I also agree with one reader that dark chocolate should be allowed as “medicine.”

Deals, Discounts and Links:

For anyone interested, here are some great deals and discounts I’ve seen around the web today…

5 GALLONS of Unrefined, Organic Coconut Oil for $79

Mountain Rose Herbs has a clearance of unrefined, organic coconut oil while supplies last.  Go to Mountain Rose Herbs and click on “New and Featured Products on the left side. It is in that section. Even with shipping, this is a great deal!

The label says “cosmetic grade” so I called and asked why, since it is organic and unrefined. They emailed back and said that there is no reason it could not be consumed, it was just from a different supplier than their regular food grade oil and they were trying to keep it consistent so they are selling this on clearance. Even with the shipping, this is a great deal! It has a shelf life of several years!

Tropical Traditions is offering FREE shipping today only. I always wait for this to order since the shipping is so expensive. If you need coconut flour, coconut oil shredded coconut, etc, stock up now! Enter the code 290811 at checkout.

I’ll also include a bag of Soap Putty,a moldable soap that is similar to play dough. oh gosh! so excited about Tropical Traditions free shipping!

  • ashley

I called Mountain Rose and the person I spoke to said that you could eat it, but it didn’t meet their “high standards” for taste so they were selling it as cosmetic grade. She wasn’t too excited about me possibly buying it to use for cooking. It’s a great price, but I’m not sure about buying it anymore.
